Performing its inaugural concert season in fall 2009, the Buffalo State Philharmonia is under the direction of Thomas Witakowski, Music Director.
The Philharmonia is composed of Buffalo State music majors, non-music majors, faculty, area professional musicians, local music educators, and community enthusiasts who are committed to performing the symphonic repertoire at a high level.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for local music educators who participate in the Philharmonia Orchestra. Interested educators can register on the Continuing and Professional Studies Website or e-mail witakote@buffalostate.edu for more information.
Auditions
Auditions for the Buffalo State Philharmonia Orchestra are open to all students and community members.

Audition Excerpts
In addition to choosing the repertoire excerpt listed below for your instrument, auditionees must prepare a short solo piece (three minutes maximum - piano accompaniment not required) which best reflects one's scope of ability and experience.
Auditions will consist of selections from the assigned repertoire excerpts, your solo piece, and possibly some sight reading from orchestral parts.
